Your core is not a place you conquer.
It is a place you notice.
Today we begin softly. With breath first, then movement. Nothing forced. Nothing rushed.
Find a quiet corner. A mat, a rug, or a steady chair. That is enough.
Start With Breath
Before you move, you breathe.
Sit or lie down. Let your shoulders drop. Rest your hands low on your belly.
Breathe in through your nose. Feel the belly rise into your hands. Slow.
Breathe out through your mouth. Feel the belly settle. Slower still.
This is the whole foundation. The gentle rise. The soft fall.
The breath moves first. The body follows.
Stay here for one minute. There is no wrong way to do this.
Finding a comfortable rhythm
Count if it helps. In for four. Out for six. Let the exhale be a little longer than the inhale.
If counting feels tight, let it go. Just breathe in a way that feels easy.
The Floor Sequence
Lie on your back. Knees bent, feet flat, arms at your sides.
- Belly breath, four rounds. Reconnect to the rise and fall. Let the floor hold you.
- Gentle exhale hug. Breathe in. As you breathe out, imagine drawing your low belly softly toward your spine. Release on the inhale. Repeat five times.
- Heel slides. On an exhale, slide one heel slowly away until the leg is long. Inhale to bend it back. Alternate sides, five each. Keep the belly soft, the breath steady.
- Knee taps. Lift one foot so the knee is over the hip. On an exhale, lower the toes to tap the floor. Inhale to lift. Five each side.
- Rest. Let the legs be long. Breathe. Feel the work settle.
Move slowly enough that the breath leads every motion.
The Chair Sequence
The floor is not for everyone today. The chair works just as well.
Sit tall near the front edge. Feet flat. Hands resting on your thighs.
- Breath, four rounds. Feel your spine grow long on each inhale.
- Seated exhale draw. Breathe out and gently draw the low belly in. Soften on the inhale. Five times.
- Marching. On an exhale, lift one foot a few inches. Inhale to lower. Slow and even, five each side.
- Side reach. Inhale, lift one arm. Exhale, lean softly to the opposite side. Feel a light stretch along the ribs. Return on the inhale. Three each way.
- Rest. Hands in your lap. Breathe. Notice how you feel.
Softer Options
Every movement here can be smaller.
- Do fewer repetitions. Two is enough on some days.
- Place a cushion under your head or hips on the floor.
- Keep both feet down and only practice the breath.
- Pause whenever you like. Rest is part of the work.
Let it feel gentle. If something pinches or strains, come out of it and return to the breath.
Closing
Notice your breathing now. It may be slower than when you began.
This is the point. Not the number of repetitions. The quiet attention.
You built something small today. Come back to it tomorrow, or the next day. Consistency is soft here.
